Dell PACS / Medical Imaging Solutions
PACS (Picture Archiving Communication Systems) are destined to take the place of printed film images including MRIs, x-rays and CT scans. Utilizing PACS, these printed films are replaced with easily-shared digital files that become a dynamic part of patients’ medical records that can be securely and remotely accessed from anywhere, at anytime. Printed images have many disadvantages: They require physical storage space, they're difficult to securely share (especially between multiple facilities), and film costs can become expensive. Thus, as with other technologies that have replaced old analog and hard-copy storage mediums with new digital formats, PACS aims to upgrade medical imaging.
